Details
Embark on a thrilling three-day trek across the renowned forts of Hindawi Swarajya: Rajgad, Torna, and Raigad.
Our journey begins at Pali village, heading to Padmavati Machi at Rajgad Fort. From there, we proceed to Torna Fort via Sanjivani Machi, pausing for lunch. We will descend through Valanjai Darwaja to Bhatti village, then travel by vehicle to Mohiri village for an overnight rest. The following day, we descend through Boratyachi Naal to Pane village, have lunch en route, and continue to Pachad village for the night. Early the next morning, we resume our trek to Raigad Fort to honor Shivaji Maharaj.
Rajgad, the royal fort of Maharashtra, served as the first capital of Hindawi Swarajya under Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj for nearly 26 years before the capital moved to Raigad Fort. Its 40 km diameter at the base made it challenging to besiege, enhancing its strategic importance.
Highest Elevation: 1374 Metres, Grade: Moderate.
Torna is one of Maharashtra's highest hill forts and is moderately challenging to climb. Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj captured it in 1643 at age 16, renaming it Prachandagad, meaning ‘Massive Fort’.
Highest Elevation: 1405 Metres, Grade: Moderate
Raigad, the subsequent capital after Rajgad, symbolizes the might of Hindavi Swarajya. Surrounded by high mountains and rivers, the fort was deemed secure. Both Rajgad and Torna forts are visible from Raigad.
Highest Elevation: 1356 Metres, Grade: Easy-Moderate
