Trek Leader - Mumbai Location
🧭 What You’ll Do
-
Lead the Team: Lead the treks, coordinate with local vendors (transport, guide and food) to secure timely, cost-effective services.

Serve as point-of-contact for participants, event briefing, addressing questions, medical needs, or any on-trail challenges during the treks.

Senior Trek Leader - Mumbai Location
An experienced outdoor professional to lead treks in Maharashtra and expeditions across Himalayas. This role offers a clear path to a rewarding leadership position within Ramblers India, where your expertise will shape unforgettable participant experiences.

Tour Curator - Mumbai Location
Role Summary
Ramblers India is looking for a passionate Tour curator who has explored multiples places and landscapes and excels at curating immersive, one-of-a-kind trip experiences. You will design bespoke itineraries, coordinate logistics, and bring stories of remote destinations, hidden trails, and cultural gems to life for our adventurers.
Key Responsibilities

Develop curated trip itineraries that blend adventure, cultural immersion, sustainability, and comfort

Negotiate with local guides, homestays, transport providers, and vendors to secure best-in-class experiences and rates

Monetary Benefits

Ramblers India shall provide a predefined profit margin to the Tour curator for each event. This margin will be calculated based on mutually agreed terms and shall be disbursed only upon the successful completion of the event.

“Successful completion” refers to the event being conducted as scheduled, with all operational and safety protocols followed, and no unresolved participant grievances:

The profit margin will be calculated after deducting Ramblers India’s marketing and operational expenses related to the event.

Social Media Intern - Remote work
We’re seeking a Social Media Intern preferably a college student who has knowledge about Sahyadris & Himalayas to amplify our story, engage adventure-enthusiasts, and showcase the spirit of exploration. You’ll collaborate with our operations teams to plan, create, and optimize content across platforms.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in developing and executing social media content.

Create engaging posts, short videos, stories, and reels—that highlight upcoming treks and participant experiences.

Monitor and analyze performance metrics; recommend adjustments to improve reach and engagement.

Our hiring process
At Ramblers India, we follow a structured, multi-stage process to ensure every new team member not only meets our safety and skill standards, but also shares our passion in outdoors & commitment to the client focused experiences.
1. Eligibility Screening
We begin by reviewing each application against clear eligibility criteria tailored to the role. Candidates must demonstrate:

Relevant certifications (e.g., mountaineering accreditation, first aid, Outdoor leadership course)

Minimum field experience (e.g., number of treks led or supported)

Alignment with our values around consent, inclusivity, and safety
Only those who met the eligbility criteria will be invited for the Interview call.
2. Introductory Call
Shortlisted candidates are invited to a 30 minute Google Meet interview. During this conversation, we:

Explore your passion and personal connection to outdoor guiding

Know their outdoor experiences

Assess communication style and participant-focus mindset
By the end of the call, we will have a clear sense of fit and next steps. If short listed we will invite for the field assessment.
3. Field Assessment
Successful candidates join us on-site for a day of hands-on evaluation during an actual trek or recce. We observe:

This immersive stage gives candidates a realistic snapshot of our operations and lets us gauge performance in context.
The Field Assessment is unpaid. Candidates are responsible for all travel, and incidental costs unless Ramblers India provides prior written reimbursement.
4. Final Onboarding
Candidates who successfully complete the Field Assessment will be offered a role with Ramblers India. Offers will be made as either a Core Team Member or a Freelancer, according to the candidate’s preference and organisational needs.
Core Team Member role and responsibilities

Co-design itineraries with the Ramblers team.

Co-lead treks and ensure smooth on-ground execution.

Lead participant briefings and manage client experience during events.

Participate in recces for new routes and destinations.

Exclusivity: Core team members should not be associated with other organisations in a way that conflicts with Ramblers India duties.

Avail our climbing gear for personal practise.
Freelancer / volunteer role and responsibilities

Called upon only when there is a requirement for a trek leader.

May be engaged at short notice if core team members are unavailable.

Freelancers are open to work with other organisations provided commitments do not clash with confirmed Ramblers assignments.

Availability: Respond promptly to engagement requests and confirm availability as required.

Standards: Follow Ramblers’ operational and safety guidelines while on assignment.
