Experience the exhilarating high altitude range trek of the Sahyadris in the breathtaking Harishchandragad Kalsubai Wildlife Sanctuary, a region renowned for its stunning landscapes and rich biodiversity. Our adventure begins at the picturesque Shirpunje Bhairavgad, a location that sets the tone for the thrilling journey that lies ahead. As we embark on our trek, we will make our way towards the majestic Ghanchakkar peak, which proudly stands as the fourth highest peak in Maharashtra, offering panoramic views that are truly awe-inspiring. The trail will guide us through meadows and rugged terrain, providing an immersive experience in nature's splendor. Along the way, we will pause for a well-deserved lunch break on the trail, situated at an altitude of over 1200 meters, where the shimmering backwaters of Bhandardara come into view from one of the scenic ridges. The sight of the vast water body, surrounded by verdant hills, creates a perfect backdrop for our meal, allowing us to recharge and soak in the beauty of our surroundings.
After enjoying our lunch, we will continue our trek to the Katrabai peak, where the sense of accomplishment will be palpable as we reach the summit. From Katrabai top, the descent towards the charming Kumshet village will be an adventure in itself. We will navigate through the Katrabai paas, a path that winds through the hills and offers glimpses of the enchanting landscape below. Upon reaching Kumshet village, we will take the time to rest and rejuvenate for the day.
On the following day, our trek will lead us to the formidable Ajoba Parvat, another one of the highest peaks in this region. The trek to Ajoba is not just a physical challenge but also a journey through diverse ecosystems and scenic vistas that will leave lasting impressions. After conquering Ajoba, we will indulge in a delicious home-cooked lunch, savoring the flavors of local cuisine that will provide the perfect fuel for our return journey. As we make our way back to Kasara, we will carry with us an abundance of cherished mountain memories, each one a testament to the adventure and beauty we experienced in the Sahyadris. This trek is not merely an outing; it is an opportunity to connect with nature, challenge oneself, and create lasting bonds with fellow adventurers.
